What it looks like: streaking, usually running vertically with gravity, in a chalky white, gray, or dulled tone against the surrounding surface, sometimes with a slightly different sheen where the streak is versus where it is not.

What it means: this is often related to cleaning chemical runoff, rather than pressure alone, particularly when a cleaning solution was applied to an adjacent surface above and allowed to run down onto vinyl or aluminum without an adequate rinse.
